I expected a dry folklore dictionary but got something that actually reads like storytelling. The chapters on wise women and the split between light and dark magic kept me up way past my bedtime. Already eyeing the next volume in the collection.
The way it weaves folklore and real historical practices together had me flipping pages well past midnight. Each chapter on the wise women’s magic feels richly researched, and I’ve already ordered the next volume in the series.
