Step into the enchanting world of Samhain Night that invites you into the eerie magic of Halloween and Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival when the veil between the living and dead thins. With roots stretching back thousands of years, this collection weaves ghost stories, harvest legends, and chilling folklore that honor the mystery of this twilight season.
I read this aloud to my kids on Halloween night, and even my skeptic teen got quiet during the tale about the thinning veil. The mix of Celtic history and ghost stories strikes a nice balance, not too scary for younger readers but eerie enough for adults.
I picked this up on a whim before Halloween and ended up reading the whole thing in two nights. The stories about the thinning veil between the living and dead gave me actual chills, and the legends are told in a way that feels old rather than cheesy.
I picked this up expecting the usual Halloween ghost stories, but the mix of folklore and personal legend here actually surprised me. The section on the thinning veil between worlds is the part I keep going back to.
